Bejelentés szerinti eseményleírás: A  légivontatott vitorlázórepülőgép elemelkedés közben meredeken a vontatógép fölé emelkedett. Ekkor a pilóta leoldott és fordulót kezdeményezett. A fordulóban a jobb szárny érte a talajt és a gép berádlizott. A pilóta nem sérült, a törzs és a vízszintes vezérsík törött.

Following the take off the aerotowed glider climbed steeply above the tow plane. The pilot released and initiated a turn. The wingtip touched the ground and the glider swerved. The pilot remained unhurt, the fuselage and the horizontal stabiliser got broken.
